Before you take that first RV trip of the year, there are a few steps you need to undertake in order to get it ready from storage. Luckily, Curtis Trailers has created this checklist in order to streamline the de-winterization process. Follow this guide, and you’ll be ready for the first trip of the year in no time!
Wash Your RV
Even in storage, your RV can accumulate dirt and grime. However, before you wash your camper, inspect the roof for cracking seams and the overall structure for any gaps or holes. You don’t want any water to get where it doesn’t belong.
Air Out Your RV
After washing your RV, open all of the doors, windows, cabinets, slide-outs, and awnings to get fresh air flowing. This is also a good opportunity to listen for and fix any squeaky hinges.
Test the Appliances and Lights
Make sure your lights and appliances are all working correctly. That way, you will be able to fix them from the comfort of your garage rather than on the road.
Inspect Your RV’s Tires
You should also check the condition of your RV’s tires. Besides making sure that they are inflated to the correct tire pressure, you should also check to make sure that the tread is not too worn down and ensure that no cracks or other signs of damage are present.
